Samenvatting

The complex planning considerations for attracting ridership to transit systems are discussed particularly light rail transit systems. Users are not interested in technology per se but in the level of service, travel time, cost and comfort. To attract maximum ridership the system should be tailored to the particular needs and constraints of the market segments it is serving.
