Samenvatting
The authors report about 112 perforating eye injuries by the so-called windshield safety glass in 107 patients. The driver was injured in 70 instances and the person sitting next to the driver in 37 instances. Perforation of the right eye occurred in 66 cases, of the left eye in 36 cases, in 5 instances both eyes were involved. None of the injured persons had worn safety belts! Time of the accident: preponderantly in the late afternoon and the evening hours (52 accidents).
