Samenvatting
Principles of long term planning for motorway building in Germany are stated. Prognoses of population, employment, number of vehicles, and gross national product per region yields figures for traffic volumes on weekdays and weekends. Criteria are presented for new road building and road improvement, both in different degrees of urgency, leading urgency plans. The method by network planning is explained, and maps are included. Road financing is briefly described, as well as the provision of road services.
