Samenvatting
In 1994, the AUSTROADS Council reached agreement as to the role of the road system and relevant outcome areas for measuring the effectiveness of road system investment and management. A set of twenty-nine nationall based indicators was subsequently identified for the economic, social, safety and environmental performance of the road system and road authorities. This report publishes data for twenty performance indicators (including for the first time - Traffic Noise Exposure) and commences time series comparisons for the Road Construction and Maintenance and Registration and Licencing performance indicators. AUSTROADS intends to develop further performance indicators and to publish data on an annual basis.
