Samenvatting
Changes that have been implemented in the Australian vehicle certification system for safety and emissions standards since its inception some two decades ago, are reviewed. The gathering of all the safety requirements of the individual registering authorities into a single set of standards uniform throughout Australia is of economic benefit to manufacturers and the public.
