In Oesterreich trat am 1. Juli 2005 ein Vormerksystem mit 13 Gesetzesuebertretungen in Kraft. Das Ziel des Systems ist es, Risikofahrer und Wiederholungstaeter zu erfassen. Nicht aufgenommen wurden jene Delikte, die schon vorher mit einem Fuehrerscheinentzug geahndet wurden, etwa bei einem Alkoholgehalt ueber 0,8 Promille. Wer eine der 13 Gesetzesuebertretungen begeht, bekommt einen Punkt im Fuehrerscheinregister eingetragen. Wer innerhalb von 2 Jahren einen weiteren Punkt bekommt, muss zur Nacherziehung. Bei 3 Punkten innerhalb von 2 Jahren kommt es zu einem Fuehrerscheinentzug auf mindestens 3 Monate. Eingetragene Punkte werden nach 2 Jahren geloescht, vorausgesetzt es sind keine neuen dazugekommen. The system aims at the registration of risk drivers and those who repeatedly offend the road traffic regulations. Nevertheless, offences that led to the withdrawal of the driving license before the introduction of the penalty point system (e. g. speeding, alcohol above 0,8 per mille blood-alcohol concentration), remain unchanged. There are 13 offences, which were integrated into the Austrian system. As a consequence of committing one of these offences, the drivers offence is registered in the driving license register. If the driver commits a second offence within 2 years, he or she has to participate in an additional measure (e. g. driver improvement course, road-safety-training). In case of a third offence within the 2 years the driving license has to be withdrawn for at least 3 months. The registered offences are deleted after 2 years. (Author/publisher).
