Samenvatting
In this article, attention is paid to a study of the modal split of home-to-school journeys. It was commissioned by the Cycle Board ('het Fietsberaad') and carried out by Traffic Test. Among other things, it appears that only one in seven school children are brought every day to primary school by car. The distance from home to school is, therefore, the main motive. It is definitely not that, every morning and afternoon, it's swarming 'car-parents' round the school, making walking or cycling too dangerous.
