Samenvatting
The emissions of automotive traffic constitute a major contribution of photochemical smog in the Netherlands. The quantity and composition of total emissions, comprising evaporation losses and exhaust gasses may be influenced in different ways. A number of modifications in fuel composition as well as engine design are reviewed. Special reference is made to studies with smog chamber experiments.
