Automatic enforcement use and its issues across EU-countries. The "Escape" Project, Working Paper 6. Project funded by the European Commission under the Transport RTD Programme of the 4th Framework Programme.

The objective with this paper is to present the existence and the process of different automatic enforcement strategies in use in the EU-countries. The investigation in EU-countries is based on a questionnaire to the participants of ESCAPE from countries, which in 1999 used automatic speed enforcement as a regular tool by the police. The report just gives a review of the situation in Europe, some general problems and how the contact with the car owner is estastablished.
