Recently, video detector attracts more public attention, because it has many advantages that other detectors cannot provide. However it also has a weak point that its setup requires heuristic knowledge for stably working. We have developed stereovision detector, which has solved this weak point. In this paper, we will show the advantage of stereovision detector on setup. Recently ITS has reached practically stage, and in many countries, various kinds of vehicle detectors are installed to sense traffic conditions for optimization of signal control or traffic information service. Especially video detector attracts more public attention, because it has many advantages that other detectors cannot provide, for example, a smaller-scale construction compared with other kinds of detectors, multi-lane detection by one detector, multi-function by wide area detection, and so on. However it also has a serious disadvantage that its setup requires heuristic knowledge to work well. We have developed new technology, which has overcome this problem using stereovision processing. In this paper, we will show the advantage of stereovision detector for setup.
