Samenvatting

Driver behaviour is one aspect of a complex technological system called automobile transportation. The automobile transportation system is regarded as a man-enviroment system which has many characteristics in common with other such systems. Variables in the system are drivers, vehicles highway geometry and materials, all of the artifacts added to highways to enhance design, traffic regulation, enforcement and aspects of enviroment. A model for a logical man-environment system framework, in which most variables are analyzed together, is presented.
