One of the objectives of this study is to find the way to optimise the scanning cycle time directly from the traffic stream characteristics. In order to do this, a mathematical model is developed to generate traffic stream simulated in millisecond order time scale. There is a possibility to get two types of errors. Therefore, another model is developed to evaluate the effect of the process error on the results of the traffic volume count.
