When entering a built-up area the driver must realise that he should drive at lower speed. The border of this area must be chosen carefully to show the driver that he must lower his speed. Based on literature study recommendations are given for place and provisions on the border of built- up areas. Recommendations concerning the immediate surroundings, the road and the car-traffic.
