Samenvatting
This article is concerned with the significance of ageing processes of the eye as a sense organ in persons employed in the transport industry. Narrowing of the field of vision and the field of peripheral vision are characteristic of old age. Eye diseases can in rare cases be compensated by professional experience and efficiency, but the reduction or loss of sight can only be prevented by early diagnosis, and therefore medical examinations are necessary.
