Companies are assumed to play an important role in reducing the commuter traffic in the Netherlands, forced or not by a sharpened policy of the national government. The aim of this study is to find out how companies feel about this matter, and which measures in this context can be considered as the most favourable ones. This analysis uses interviews held by the Dutch Institute for Public Opinion and Market Research (NIPO) with managers of commercial companies in the Netherlands, in September 1990. A selection of 358 cases has been made from the original database including 1140 cases.
