Samenvatting
This paper discusses and solves a small-scale hypothetical example for extra-urban recreational traffic flows. The method so demonstrated has been applied by the Michigan Outdoor Recreation Demand Study in the Department of Resource Development, Michigan State University. The system flow equations are constructed rigorously from canonical component models by use of the interconnection matrix in a manner shown in detail in the paper. The results give link flows for alternative routes without the necessity for constructing diversion curves. In fact, diversion curves may be easily estimated by this method.
