Samenvatting
It is pointed out that one of the arguments that have been put forward little in recent discussions about traffic control is traffic safety. Therefore, attention is paid to traffic safety in relation to traffic control. A condition for integrating the safety aspect into the whole is mentioned. It is also shown that the electronics offers good possibilities for the future traffic control. Attention is further paid to two studies in which traffic safety aspects in the development of electronic systems have been brought in by the Department of Traffic of the Delft University of Technology.
