Samenvatting
The author explains the policy of traffic control within the 1975 national plan for road safety. The policy is aimed at four areas, viz. to find out why and how people move: under what circumstances mobility takes place; training, selection, education and publicity; and finally legal measures, enforcement and (police) control. Emphasis is put on urban traffic safety and pedestrian and bicycle safety. The importance of cooperation between all organizations working in the field of traffic safety, is stressed.
