The aim of the traffic safety policy in the Netherlands is to decrease the number of traffic accidents particularly by decreasing the number of dead and injured people by traffic. The interests of the needed and desired size and quality of the mobility and the desired quality of the environment for dwelling, working and living are taken into account.
