Samenvatting

A signalized intersection suitable for speed signal funnel installation is described. A speed signal funnel incorporating three variable-message speed signals was designed for each of two major approaches at the study intersection. It was determined that the speed signal funnel yielded benefit-cost ratios ranging from 2.0: 1.0 to 12.0: 1.0 depending on the assumptions underlying the benefit-cost computation.
