Samenvatting

This paper presents the summary findings of three travel behaviour studies that focused on the benefits of Advanced Traveler Information Systems (ATIS) in the San Francisco Bay Area. The results reflected the travelers' perspectives and showed that perceived benefits of traveler information varied depending on the types of information received. Information received through a traveler advisory telephone system called TravInfo had greater impact on travel behaviour than did radio traffic information.
