Samenvatting
On behalf of the SWOV a preliminary experiment has been performed which was meant to study and analyse the driving task of the motorist. The present experiments covered only a part of the driving task, viz. The determination and the maintenance of a straight course. The results of these experiments show that there are important relationships between the drivers performance and his visual environment and also some indications were obtained on a change in driving strategy depending on conditions of road, speed and vision
