Samenvatting

There are many approaches, definitions and operationalisations which relate to the concept of accessibility. One way of approaching it is by focusing on potential accessibility by calculating the number of opportunities (such as places of work) that may by reached from various points (e.g., people's homes) within a given time span. The current ways of looking at the way in which people gain access to their places of work from where they live or of looking at the way in which working population can be reached from work situation locations do not take into account the fact that workers compete for places of work and employers for employees. What has been proposed is that a kind of accessibility levels should be adopted that does account for such competition. (A)
