Calculations of the expected wind hindrance for road traffic on the Stormvloedkering Oosterschelde are presented. On basis of wind data collected in the windtunnel on a scale model the lateral modification of a vehicle is determined by means of a digital simulation with the aid of a linear mathematical model of driver and vehicle. Calculations are done for westerly wind mainly, taking into account the number of slide values which are down for maintenance. The influence of wind screens is also studied.
