The characteristics of various road side safety structures are described. Desirable standards for road side structures are outlined. Types of constructions erected as a result of this investigation are reviewed. A number of terms are discussed concerning the classification of various of structures and their strength. So-called flexible twin-sided structures are considered to be the best.
