Transit vehicles sharing road space with other traffic are unable to maintain their schedule. The irregularity of the service is mainly caused by the variation in stopping times. Analysis as to the cause of these variations can provide a good basis for service improvement proposals. Experience with the Transyt Vehicle Trip Analysis has been gathered in a number of cities in the Netherlands.
