A detailed analysis (largely confined to 1975) of bicycle accidents in the Geelong statistical district and Melbourne statistical district is presented. The location of bicycle accidents, causes, characteristics of victims, times of occurrence, types of vehicles involved and the ratio of reported to unreported accidents is examined in detail. Amongst the large number of findings is the major conclusion that most attention needs to be given to road intersections and cyclist/driver behaviour at these locations. (Author/publisher)
