Bicycle facilities for Australian capital cities.

A case for providing bicycle facilities to encourage cycling can be made in terms of: transport efficiency, equity, amenity and reduction in cyclists road accident trauma. A low cost solution, to the provision of facilities for movement, is to base the network on existing quiet residential streets. It is concluded that a strong case exists for public investment in bicycle facilities.
