Bicycle safety : state and territory initiatives-Northern territory.

During the latter half of the 1970's there emerged in Australia a community awareness of the functional role of the bicycle in the transportation system and a desire to develop safe and convenient cycle routes, in urban areas. Many government bodies undertook bicycle studies. The national concern was reflected in the Northern territory and in Darwin resulting in the construction of bicycle paths.
