The number of fatalities and seriously injured among bicyclists in traffic is still high and trends show that it increases with time. What is the underlying cause of these accidents? One aspect of bicycling is the vehicle itself: the bicycle, a very versatile but also inherent laterally unstable vehicle. This paper focuses on the current knowledge on the stability and control of bicycles. (Author/publisher)
