Samenvatting
Crash Barriers, type 'New-Jersey', perfected in USA, have been used in France since 1974. Two types of concrete separators have been officially approved and must be cast in situ. Crash barriers are preferable to sliding struc-tures and their integration in the site can be improved by the use of double separators and vegetation. In France, this device is considered satisfactory as a means of improving road safety because it constitutes a barrier well capable of stopping heavy lorries.
