Samenvatting

A head injury model capable of predicting head injury through a maximum strain criteria (MSC) has been developed. This model is coupled to a helmet model and the combination allows the prediction of optimum helmet performance characteristics within a given set of constraints including size and weight. Helmet performance is improved by decreasing elastic stiffness and increasing damping properties.
