A summing up of possibilities for energy conservation for cars and lorries is pretended. The savings can arise by improvement of the vehicle technique and those aspects which can be influenced by the driver as driving behaviour and maintenance. It is tried to show the value of these savings. Recommendations are presented for governmental policy for energy conservation.
