Samenvatting

One of the requirements for the Lion Intoxilyzer 6000, designed to replace the Intoximeter 3000, was that it should track the breath alcohol expirogram (the change in breath alcohol concentration during an expiration, measured against elapsed time, discard volume and breath flow rate). This paper describes a program carried out to investigate whether people of varous ages, statures, sex and health would be able to meet the minimum breath sampling requirements of the new instrument. It was concluded that the Lion Intoxilyzer 6000 could be used by all but those suffering from a serious respiratory disability.
