This issue of Current Topics includes over 60 abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles which focus on safety aspects of bus, coach and minibus transport. Abstracts cover the design of these vehicles, with special reference to the fitting and retrofitting of seat belts, seat design, drivers' vision, the roof, wheelchair accessibility and restraint, steering, braking, fire safety. rollover safety etc. Other subjects include construction regulations, accident reports and statistics, occupant protection and accident prevention. These items have been selected from the material added to the Transport Research Laboratory's Library Database between 1995 and 1999. Much of the relevant English language published literature from the UK, USA, Australia and Europe is included; some of the non-UK literature is included courtesy of the OECD International Road Research Documentation (IRRD) database.
