Samenvatting

The scheme and structure for bus information service (BIS), which is a typical service for Public Transportation Service using active DSRC (Dedicated Short Range Communication) system, is presented. The system can collect the information of travel time between bus stops and provide the arrival time by next bus stop. And the centre of the BIS system can monitor the position of each bus and distribute the travel time by specific bus stop to each bus with other information such as weather, advertisement and subway information, etc. The demonstration program for the BIS system is described. The system for this service is implemented by active DSRC system instead of GPS (Global Positioning System) to detect the position of a bus. And new services using advanced DSRC system such as internet service are proposed. This system will support the mobile IP (Internet Protocol). In the early stage, a mobile office service which is supporting the full mobility was considered. Adding the mobile IP protocol layer to IP protocol layer will change its protocol stack in the DSRC system.
