This study investigates the possibilities for using emergency lanes by buses in the Netherlands. To gain an insight into the past and present (1) experiences, (2) wishes and (3) opinions of the various parties/persons concerned with this facility, the data was collected by means of: a literature study, interviews, and a written questionniare. One conclusion of the study is that emergency lane use by buses should be limited to structurally congested locations.
