Samenvatting
An analysis of traffic accidents involving buses and touristbuses exposes the different characteristics of the two categories of accidents. The analysis is based on accident data from 1976 to 1982. The accidents involving buses mostly take place in urban areas (84%), 27% of the other parties involved in accidents with buses are pedestrians, pedal cyclists or moped riders. 35% of the accidents takes place in the afternoon between 14.00 and 18.00 h, thus including the afternoon peak hours.
