Samenvatting

unsignalised intersections are widely used in Switzerland, especially where traffic volumes are relatively low. This paper presents a capacity analysis procedure for unsignalised intersections, including yield- or stop-controlled intersections and roundabouts. A method of estimating queue length and delays that accounts for traffic variations at unsignalised intersections is also proposed. Roundabout Operations Analysis Program (ROAP), a software program for analysing roundabout capacity, queues, and delays is presented, and some aspects of development of unsignalised intersection design are briefly discussed.
