Samenvatting
A change-over from car to public transport involves an increase in travel time. This time can be estimated with the help of trip length frequency distributions and corresponding travel times in each distance category. It has become clear that a complete change from car to public transport adds 30 minutes to the travel time per head per day. Therefore a change-over like this involves a considerable decrease in mobility. Also in cost it cannot be assumed that a change-over from car to public transport is the right answer to economic stagnation.
