A review is given of a study tour to carpooling in California. Carpooling is a very seriously considered phenomenon in the US. Many provisions in the road network are applied to let carpools driver easier than others. Besides the government executes stimulation programs, companies are approached, matching services are set up etc. 20% of car drivers have the possibilities for carpooling during peak hour.
