Samenvatting
This report describes the practical reasons and objectives with regard to the categorisation of roads for traffic planners. A number of building stones for realising categorisation are given. An overview is presented of many forms of categorisation in The Netherlands, Australia, Denmark, the former Federal Republic of Germany, Norway and Sweden. An evaluation is given of the effectiveness of the presented categorisations. Finally, recommendations are made.
