This book presents, side by side, two differing approaches to the vital problem of road safety. Together, they present a comprehensive survey of contemporary thought and research. The first view, Prof. Cohen's, is that to be successfully the entire strategy of road safety must be subjected to fundamental re-examination. Mrs. Preston places her emphasis on more purely empirical aspects. Both concepts are through-provoking and must be given to the question of road safety if the present terrifying accident-rate is to be controlled.
