As a result of new Eurocodes, the single wind pressure used successfully for many years for designing sign structures throughout the UK no longer exists. There is now a complicated design procedure that can result in larger post sections. The new standards must be used as an opportunity to reach the right balance between structural safety, passive safety and economy.
