The Challenge of Creating a Multimodal Travel Planner For Stockholm - Experiences and Lessons Learned.

This paper describes how Trafiken.nu has created an online travel plannerthat compares different modes of transport in terms of travel time, cost and environmental impact. A new function plan commute offers users information about service frequency. Travel alternatives are presented as an overview in tables together with a map which has a central role in the online service. The estimated travel time by car has been supplemented withhistorical data from measurements and a recently completed bottleneck analysis. Tests show that users have noted and appreciate the travel alternatives presented.
