Samenvatting

A number of programs have been implemented in Victoria to combat the high percentage of serious-casualty motor vehicle accidents involving alcohol. These programs have included an on-going mass publicity campaign and a number of legislative measures such as the introduction of random breath testing. The countermeasures which were largely directed towards male motorists appear to have resulted, others than thus for female motorists, in a decrease in alcohol involvement.
