Samenvatting

A comparison of user characteristics and attitudes of Dial-a-Bus and Park-and-Ride services is presented using the results of two on-board surveys conducted in New York State communities. Survey results show that the two systems have distinctly different ridership and levels of usage, but that users of both the Park-and Ride and Dial-a-Bus systems were generally satisfied with the service provided. Information is also presented on the riders' demographic characteristics, sensitivity to fare and gasoline price changes, and rates of usage.
