Samenvatting

Results of an intensive analysis of 271 motorcycle accidents in Canada are presented. Victims were found to be generally young, male operators with very limited riding experience. Improper automobile operation, excessive speed of both vehicles and poor training or inexperience of the motorcyclist were the primary causes of all accident types. Recommendations for improving the motorcycle accident injury situation are listed.
