Samenvatting

A study of adult bicycle riders who ride at least three time a month was conducted in the U.S.A. As cycling experience increased, accident involvement appeared to decrease. Almost one out of 17 subjects was involved in a collision or serious fall that required medical treatment. Bicycle accident rate appear to be about twice as high as motor vehicle accident rates: age, sex, and years of experience of the bicycle rider are influential on the rate.
