Samenvatting
Performance criteria for simulated crash testing of child restraint systems must reflect real world influences of the goal of widespread use of effective, practical and economic child restraint systems in to be realised. This paper presents the anatomical considerations and general principles of occupant restraint in the car crash environment with emphasis on the protection of the child auto occupant. Design criteria and typical performance problem areas in child restraint systems are discussed.
